Beyond Bright has a home base in Marina del Rey and a team spread across a bunch of other cities, plus freelancers who come in per project, so nobody shares a desk.
The work still has to get from brief to design to client approval without anyone losing a file, so we're picky about tools.
Freelancers ask us about this a lot, so here's what we're on right now.
Talking
Slack for day to day. Google Meet for most calls and Zoom for some sales calls. Gmail for client and outside email.
Files
Everything lives in Google Drive. Even when something starts in another tool, anything important gets backed up there, because it's the one place we trust not to disappear.
Design
Canva for most social, email and template work. We build templates clients can open and edit themselves, like swapping a date or a line of copy. A lot of our Canva work is automated now too, like bulk-updating dates or copy across dozens of designs at once.
Claude Design for website mockups, decks and bigger design work we want to move fast on. Our own new site came out of it.
Social and approvals
Rella for scheduling social. We're also building our own portal where clients can review the things that aren't social posts, like emails, decks and print pieces.
Email and SMS
Klaviyo for email and SMS, flows and campaigns both.
What we'd tell a freelancer to learn
If you want agency work, get fluent in Canva and comfortable in Slack and Google Drive, which is most of what you'd touch with us. Know how to hand off a clean, organized file in whatever tool you design in. If you do email, learn Klaviyo well enough to build a welcome flow from scratch.
